Dear Families,
We have had a wonderful beginning to our school year! We have been very busy getting to know each other and learning where everything can be found. The children have been cooperative and are getting along nicely. I will be sharing a “Topics to Share” checklist every week to help you and your child discuss things that we are doing at school. I am encouraging your child to sit down with you and discuss the topics that are listed. I feel that this helps the children feel connected between home and school. If we have any special upcoming events, announcements, or reminders, I will include that information toward the end of the “Topics to Share” or I will post additional information or send home a detailed letter. Enjoy listening to your child talk about what is going on in our first grade classroom! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have by sending me an email at ([email protected]) or by leaving me a voicemail message at school (224-765-3457). You can also send a note to school with your child in his/her blue Home Folder. I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued help and support this school year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Heidi VanderVere
