Lunch/Recess: 11:45 – 12:10/ 12:10 – 12:35
The children have about 25 minutes to eat their lunches in the lunchroom. Then the children will have outdoor recess for about 25 minutes, unless it is raining or it is dangerously cold. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the outdoor weather. As winter approaches, you may want to send an extra pair of socks to keep inside your child's backpack, in case their feet get wet.
Library:
Kindergartners will have the privilege of checking out one book at a time from our school library. Books will be checked out for one week and must be returned before a new book can go home. Your child may return their library book to school any day of the week. Our weekly scheduled library check-out time is on Friday afternoons.
Kindergarten Birthday Celebrations:
In Kindergarten, your child is invited to share a favorite storybook to celebrate their birthday with our class. Your child can bring a special storybook from home or a book can be chosen from our classroom library for me to read in honor of your child’s birthday. If your child has a summer birthday and would like to celebrate their birthday at school, please let me know. We would be happy to celebrate your child’s half birthday during the school year.
After School Arrangements:
If your child is going somewhere different after school, please email me or call the school office. It is for your child’s own safety that school staff knows your child’s appropriate destination at the end of the school day.
Home-School Communication:
Maintaining good parent/teacher communication is one of the best ways to support your child at school. I will be sending emails and notes to keep you informed about classroom learning and important upcoming dates. I am truly looking forward to working with you and your child. Communication between home and school is very important to me and I am available to listen and help as I can. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please email me at [email protected]. I will get in touch with you as soon as I possibly can.
