- Buddy Activity: We enjoyed sharing some exciting snow books with our Buddies from Mrs. Sidell's 3rd grade class on Tuesday afternoon!
- Chris Falcon Children's Author Visit: A former Indian Trail student, personal trainer, and children's picture book author, Chris Falcon, came to our school on Thursday morning. He gave the first grade classes a great presentation with fun, interactive activities about health, fitness, and how he created his fun children's picture book called Billy Blue and the Big Belly. - "A Winter's Medley" First Grade Music Program: Thank you for coming to our festive, music program. We really had fun performing for you and hoped you enjoyed it as much as we did!
*Reminders and Upcoming Events
- Winter Break: Winter break will begin after school today, Friday, December 18th. School will resume again on Monday, January 4th.
- Attendance Reminder: If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason, please call the school's attendance line and report his/her absence at 224-765-3505.
- Tissues and Hand Wipes Needed: Our class is running very low on tissues and hand wipes. If possible, please send some tissues and hand wipes to school with your child. Kleenex Anti-Viral tissues and Wet Ones hand wipes are two of the recommended brands to help limit the spread of germs. *Thank you to the Bronstein and Heaton families for donating this week!
- Library Books: School library books will be due on Monday, January 4th.
- Early Release: Students will be dismissed at 1:00 on Friday, January 15th. Students will still be eating their healthy fruit or vegetable snacks in the morning and lunches at school.
- No School: We do not have school in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday on Monday, January 18th.
- Ice Cream Day: Students will have the opportunity to purchase an ice cream/frozen treat on Wednesday, January 20th during lunch for $2.00.
- Math Centers: We are looking forward to doing some more fun math activities during Math Centers on Friday, January 22nd from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the morning with help from Mrs. Bronstein, Mrs. Leite, and Mrs. Siegal.
