- Veterans’ Day: Hopefully Americans will remember to honor the men and women who have served or who currently serve our country in the armed forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, & Coast Guard) by having two minutes of respectful silence at 11:00 a.m. next Wednesday, November 11th. (eleventh month, eleventh day, and at the eleventh hour)

- Safety Evacuation Drill: We successfully completed our first Evacuation Drill on Wednesday afternoon this week.
*Updates and Reminders:
- Indian Trail PTO Book Fair at Barnes & Noble: Families are invited to celebrate literacy, support our PTO, and attend the Indian Trail Book Fair this weekend, on Sunday, November 8th between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble book store in Deerfield.
- November Fall Conference Schedule: Next Tuesday, November 10th, our staff will be sending home notes with scheduled conference days and times. First graders do not attend Fall conferences, but will join us during our March conferences. If you find that you need to reschedule your conference day and/or time, please contact me as soon as possible by emailing me at [email protected] or by calling me at school at 224-765-3457.
- School Picture Retake Day: Next Tuesday, November 10th, some students will be having their pictures taken if they were absent last month on School Picture Day or need their pictures to be retaken in the small gym.
- No School/Veterans’ Day: We do not have school next Wednesday, November 11th in honor of Veterans’ Day. Americans will honor the men and women who have served or who currently serve our country in the armed forces by having two minutes of respectful silence at 11:00 a.m. next Wednesday, November 11th. (eleventh month, eleventh day, and at the eleventh hour)
- Library Books: School library books are due by next Friday, November 13th.
- Math Centers: We are looking forward to doing some fun math activities during our first Math Centers day next Friday, December 13th from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the morning with help from Mrs. Antunez, Mrs. Leite, and Mr. or Mrs. Licup.
- Ice Cream Day: Students will have the opportunity to purchase an ice cream/frozen treat on Wednesday, November 18th during lunch for $2.00.
- No School/Parent-Teacher Conferences: There will be no school on Monday, November 23rd and Tuesday, November 24th for Parent-Teacher Conferences.
– No School/Thanksgiving Break: There will also be no school on Wednesday, November 25th, Thursday, November 26th, and Friday, November 27th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
DECEMBER:
- Early Release: Students will be dismissed at 1:00 on Friday, December 4th. Students will still be having their healthy fruit or vegetable snacks in the morning and will be eating their lunches at school.
- Math Centers: We are looking forward to doing fun math activities during Math Centers on Friday, December 11th from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the morning with help from Mrs. Antunez, Mrs.Drucker, and Mrs. Leite.
- Ice Cream Day: Students will have the opportunity to purchase an ice cream/frozen treat on Wednesday, December 16th during lunch for $2.00.
- First Grade Music Program: Our first graders will be performing at their Music Program on Friday, December 18th from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon. We hope you can come!
- Winter Break: Winter break will begin after school on Friday, December 18th. School will resume on Monday, January 4th.
