- Chinese New Year/The Year of the Rooster: Chinese New Year is celebrated around the world. This year the celebration will begin tomorrow, Saturday, January 28th and lasts for fifteen days. This holiday is scheduled, using the Lunar Calendar.

- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) Assembly: Thanks to our supportive PTO, we had a wonderful, interactive, fun filled assembly and follow up interactive, exploration stations on Monday morning. Students actively explored different stations, expanding our learning and reviewing how important Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math are in our daily lives. Thank you to all of our PTO volunteers, including Mrs. Gamson.

- Scholastic Book Orders: Book orders are due by next Tuesday, January 31st.
- iRead for 112 Foundation/1V HOMEWORK: Please record ALL of the minutes read at home from Saturday, January 7th through Tuesday, January 31st.
*Completed forms with parent signatures are due by next Friday, February 3rd. Thank you so much for your continued help, support, and participation!
**Reading and recording minutes is a school wide HOMEWORK assignment. Minutes spent reading homework books, library books, Raz-Kids books, books at home, magazines, newspapers, etc. can be included on the recording form.
***Donations are much appreciated and are optional.
****Please let me know if your child needs another recording form.
- Collections of 100: Students’ collections of 100 of the same item in the sandwich size bag are due by next Friday, February 3rd to help us celebrate our upcoming 100th day of school on Friday, February 10th.
- Library Books: School library books are due next Friday, February 3rd.
- Math Centers: We are looking forward to doing some fun math activities during Math Centers next Friday, February 3rd from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the morning with help from Mrs. Borre, Mrs. Gamson, Mrs. Metnick, and Ms. Muller.
- 100th Day of School: We will be celebrating our 100th Day of School on Friday, February 10th with some fun, thematic activities.
- Valentine Cards: We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, February 14th. Students are welcome to bring valentines to school for ALL 16 classmates.
*Please do not include any sugary treats or goody bags with your child's valentines, because a sweet treat will be provided in our classroom. Thank you for continued support and understanding!
- Ice Cream Day: Students will have the opportunity to purchase an ice cream/frozen treat on Wednesday, February 15th during lunch for $2.00.
- Early Release: Students will be dismissed on Friday, February 17th at 1:00 p.m.
*Students will be eating their fruit or vegetable snacks and lunches at school.
- No School/Presidents’ Day: We do not have school on Monday, February 20th in honor of Presidents’ Day.
- No School/Teacher Institute Day: Students do not have school on Tuesday, February 21st for Teacher Institute Day.
