- November Fall Conference Schedule: A bright green note with your scheduled conference day and time was already sent home on Tuesday in your child's blue Home folder. First graders do not attend November conferencences, but will join us during our March conferences. If you need to reschedule your conference day and/or time, please contact me as soon as possible by emailing me at [email protected] or by calling me at school at 224-765-3457.
- Turkey Activity: Students’ creative turkey projects and completed forms are due by next Tuesday, November 17th.
- Ice Cream Day: Students will have the opportunity to purchase an ice cream/frozen treat next Wednesday, November 18th at lunch for $2.00.
- “Words Their Way” Word Study Assessment: Students will be assessed on their current list of Word Sort words next Friday, November 20th. We have been practicing different word sort activities this week at school. Your child should be practicing different word sort homework activities at home too.
- Library Books: School library books are due by next Friday, November 20th.
- ATTENDANCE REMINDER: If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason, please call the school's attendance line and report his/her absence at 224-765-3505.
- Bundling Up: Please remind your child to dress appropriately for the upcoming cold outdoor weather by wearing warm, heavy coats, hats, gloves/mittens, scarves, boots, etc. Students have 25 minutes of outdoor recess everyday after lunch.
- Getting Dressed: Please have your child practice zipping, snapping, buttoning, and tying his/her shoes if he/she still needs assistance getting dressed. Thank you for your continued help and support at home!
– No School/Parent-Teacher Conferences: There will be no school on Monday, November 23rd and Tuesday, November 24th for Parent-Teacher Conferences.
- No School/Thanksgiving Break: There will also be no school on Wednesday, November 25th, Thursday, November 26th, and Friday, November 27th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
DECEMBER:
- Early Release: Students will be dismissed at 1:00 on Friday, December 4th. Students will still be having their healthy fruit or vegetable snacks in the morning and will be eating their lunches at school.
- Math Centers: We are looking forward to doing some more fun math activities during Math Centers on Friday, December 11th from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the morning with help from Mrs. Antunez, Mrs. Drucker, Mrs. Leite, and Mrs. Siegal.
- Ice Cream Day: Students will have the opportunity to purchase an ice cream/frozen treat on Wednesday, December 16th during lunch for $2.00.
- "A Winter's Medley" First Grade Music Program: First grade students will be performing during their music program called "A Winter's Medley" on Friday, December 18th from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the small gym. If possible, please have your child wear winter themed clothing (snowflakes, snowmen, etc.) and/or accessories (scarves, mittens, hats, etc.). We hope you can come!
- Winter Break: Winter break will begin after school on Friday, December 18th. School will resume on Monday, January 4th.
