- Fire Safety/Fire Prevention Week: We learned about fire safety and prevention this week. Please discuss and practice safe home evacuation plans with a designated meeting place outside with your family. Please be sure your child knows your family's contact information in case of an emergency. Please check your smoke detector backup batteries as well.

*Reminders and Upcoming Events:
- NSSD 112 Education Foundation 14th Annual 5K Fun(d) Run and Family Walk: This amazing community event will be held tomorrow, Saturday, October 14th at Ravinia Festival in Highland Park at 8:00 a.m. All proceeds will benefit the Scholarship Fund for the students in our school district.
- Scholastic Book Orders: Scholastic book orders are due by next Wednesday, October 18th.
- Ice Cream Day: Students will have the opportunity to purchase an ice cream/frozen treat next Wednesday, October 18th during lunch for $3.00.
*Students who have already been signed up and paid for ice cream will have their names on the PTO's ice cream list.
- Library Books: School library books are due by next Friday, October 20th.
- Indian Trail PTO Meeting: Our next Indian Trail PTO meeting will be held on Monday, October 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in our school library.
- Indian Trail School Picture Day: Students will be having their school photographs taken on Tuesday, October 24th.
- Highland Park High School Halloween Concert: Students from Indian Trail will be walking over to Highland Park High School on Thursday, October 26th in the morning to see their exciting musical Halloween Concert performance.
- Halloween Parade: Families and friends are invited to come and see our annual outdoor Halloween costume parade at 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31st. Please send your child to school with his/her Halloween costume in a bag that day, so we can change in the afternoon. Students’ costumes should be safely designed and age appropriate to allow for adequate vision, mobility, and warmth. Masks cannot be worn.
*NO TOY WEAPONS of any type will be allowed at school.
- Halloween Classroom Celebration Help: Our wonderful class room parents this school year are Mrs. Kach and Mrs. Schmanski. If anyone is interested in helping with the Halloween classroom celebration after the parade on Tuesday, October 31st from 2:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., please email Mrs. Kach at [email protected].
