*Reminders and Upcoming Events
- Snowman Activity: Students’ creative snowmen and completed forms are due by next Wednesday, December 9th.
- Library Books: Library books are due by next Friday, December 11th.
- Math Centers: We are looking forward to doing some more fun math activities during Math Centers next Friday, December 11th from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. with help from Mrs. Antunez, Mrs. Drucker, Mrs. Leite, and Mrs. Siegal.
- Ice Cream Day: Students will have another opportunity to purchase an ice cream/frozen treat on Wednesday, December 16th during lunch for $2.00.
- "A Winter's Medley" First Grade Music Program: First grade students will be performing during their music program called "A Winter's Medley" on Friday, December 18th from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the small gym. If possible, please have your child wear winter themed clothing (snowflakes, snowmen, etc.) and/or accessories (scarves, mittens, hats, etc.). We hope you can come!
- Winter Break: Winter break will begin after school on Friday, December 18th. School will resume on Monday, January 4th.
- Attendance Reminder: If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason, please call the school's attendance line and report his/her absence at 224-765-3505.
- Bundling Up: Please remind your child to dress appropriately for the cold outdoor weather by wearing a warm, heavy coat, snow pants, a hat, gloves/mittens, scarf, snow boots, etc. Students have 25 minutes of outdoor recess everyday after lunch.
- Getting Dressed: Please have your child practice zipping, snapping, buttoning, and tying his or her shoes if he or she still needs assistance getting dressed. Thank you for your continued help and support at home!
*Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday break with family and friends. I was so pleased to meet with all of you during conferences to share good news of your child’s successes and his or her goals for first grade!
